How to join Qantas Business Rewards
Joining Qantas Business Rewards to enjoy rewards and savings is an easy process.
There’s normally a one-off joining fee of $89.50 to sign up to Qantas Business Rewards, however, Qantas is waiving this fee for a limited time.
Business owners can take advantage of this by registering for a business account with the following steps:
- Visit the Qantas Business Rewards website
- Enter a valid ABN
- Enter personal details (name, email, phone)
New members can use their membership number to begin earning points and enjoying discounts and savings right away.
Qantas Business Rewards membership levels
Qantas Business Rewards is comprised of three membership tiers. These tiers can be likened to status in the Qantas Frequent Flyer program; however, Qantas Business Rewards members earn points on Qantas flights (rather than status credits) to achieve a higher tier.
Tier progression relies on achieving a quota of points per membership year. Like Qantas Frequent Flyer, members who reach the points threshold will qualify for the same level for the next year.
Travellers (of all membership tiers) who fly for a business will earn 250 bonus Qantas Points every time they fly.
The Qantas Business Rewards tiers are split into three levels, each level unlocking access to better benefits and higher savings. The levels are as follows:
Level 1
New Qantas Business Rewards members will begin on Level 1. This level is for businesses that earn up to 14,999 Qantas Business Rewards points per year. Note, that is QBR points, not Qantas Frequent Flyer Points. At this level members will be able to enjoy benefits including:
- 250 bonus Qantas Points (Flyer Bonus) each time members travel for work
- 20 bonus Qantas Points every time a traveller earns 100 Qantas Points on business-related flights
Level 2
Level 2 is for businesses that earn from 15,000 to 79,999 Qantas Business Rewards points each membership year. This mid-level tier boosts savings, such as:
- 250 bonus Qantas Points (Flyer Bonus) each time members travel for work
- 30 bonus Qantas Points every time a traveller earns 100 Qantas Points on business-related flights
Level 3
Businesses that earn upwards of 80,000 Qantas Business Rewards points from business flights per membership year will unlock Level 3 benefits. Top-tier membership benefits include all the benefits of Level 2 as well as:

- 40 bonus Qantas Points every time a traveller earns 100 Qantas Points on business-related flights

Beyond the Qantas Business Rewards card products listed above, before deciding to take up any type of business credit or charge card, there are many factors that individuals need to consider. This includes the introductory sign-on bonus (if any), ongoing points earn rate, the type of card (credit card vs charge card), ongoing business benefits, and the size of the annual fee. Earning points in the sky: flying
A great way to earn Qantas Points is for businesses to become their own travel agents. Once a Qantas Business Rewards account is set up, card members can register the names of employees who will be travelling.
A traveller flying with the business ABN will earn Qantas Points straight into their Qantas Frequent Flyer account, while the business also earns a percentage of the points into the Qantas Business Rewards account. It is possible to double-dip and stack rewards with Qantas Frequent Flyer this way.
The points calculator is a great way to work out how many points can be earned with Qantas or a partner airline domestic or international flight for work.
For example, members can earn 913 Qantas Points for a return domestic or New Zealand flight, that’s 45,560 points for businesses whose travellers take 50 return flights in a membership year.
To ensure points are credited, it’s important to enter the membership ABN into the flight booking. Note that a business must be registered for GST to earn Qantas Business Rewards points from flying.
Earning points with accommodation: Qantas Hotels
Qantas Points don’t end in the sky. Travellers who require accommodation for business can earn up to four Qantas Points per $1 spent at over 200,000 Qantas Hotels worldwide.
Qantas Business Rewards members will enjoy the regular earn rate of three Qantas Points per $1 spent on Qantas Hotel bookings, as well as an additional boost of one point.
So, by including the business ABN on their booking, Qantas Business Rewards members can earn four points per $1 spent.
It’s worth noting that there are some limitations here, as this does not apply to Airbnb bookings. Booking a stay through Qantas Hotels usually won’t see members qualify for points or redeem benefits in the hotel’s loyalty program either, so there’s no scope to stack offers.
Earning points on the road: car hire and fuel
Here’s where Qantas Business Rewards and Qantas Frequent Flyer really work together.
Qantas Business Rewards offers additional points when business-related travel involves hitting the road with Avis or Budget car rentals.
On top of the regular four Qantas Points for every $1 points earn for frequent flyers, there are a further four Qantas Business Rewards points per $1 spent for business travel up for grabs.
That’s eight points (per $1 spent) across the two rewards programs, meaning that an easy $200AUD spent on fuel at BP could see a total 1,600 points earned.
Earning points by indulging: Qantas Wine
Qantas Wine offers another great opportunity to double-dip on Qantas Points.
Businesses can earn two Qantas Business Rewards points per $1 spent with Qantas Wine, on top of a further three points earned via Qantas Frequent Flyer (where there’s a standard earn rate of one point per $1 spent).
Qantas Wine boasts a selection of over 2,000 quality hand-picked wines (including a range of high-end Champagnes!), as well as spirits, beer and gourmet food to appeal to almost all tastes.

Redemptions start when a Qantas Business Rewards balance reaches a minimum threshold of 3,000 points.

Do Qantas Business Rewards Points expire?
When it comes to points currency, Qantas Business Rewards aligns with the expiry policy of Qantas Frequent Flyer.
Qantas Business Rewards Points don’t expire, so long as the Member has earned, redeemed or transferred Qantas Points via the Business Rewards account at least once in a consecutive 18-month period. There’s no minimum points threshold needed to trigger the activity test – simply earning or redeeming 1 point is enough to get you over the line.
