How to become an Accor Plus Member for a Day

If you’re an Accor Plus member, or if you know someone who is, there’s a surprisingly lucrative benefit that it pays to know about. 

With the ‘Member for a Day’ Certificate, non-Accor members can get a taste of almost the entire range of Accor Plus benefits. Here’s what you need to know.

What is the Accor Plus Member for a Day Certificate? 

The Member for a Day Certificate is a key benefit of Accor’s loyalty program, Accor Plus. This valuable feature enables a non-member to access all Accor Plus privileges (excluding Stay Plus) for a 24-hour period upon presentation of the certificate.

Who can access the Member for a Day Certificate? 

Since it’s a benefit specific to Accor Plus, the Member for a Day Certificate is only redeemable by paid up members.

Accor Plus members can invoke this all-mighty feature up to three times within a membership subscription year. That offers the ability to grant 24 sweet hours of Accor Plus access to your nearest and dearest again and again (and again) or, rather, share the love with a few different people.  

What does the Member for a Day Certificate offer?

The Member for a Stay feature grants exciting member benefits, including a night’s stay at an exclusive Members Rate, as well as up to half-price dining at participating Accor hotels – because who doesn’t love dining in? While no points or status will be accumulated, there’s significant savings to be had here. 

So what exactly is on offer? The specific benefits that Member for a Day unlocks are: 

• 10% off the best available public rate for Accor Plus Members for a Day who book directly through Accor 
• 50% off the food portion of the bill when dining as a party of two at participating Asia Pacific restaurants 

Additionally, participating Accor restaurants and bars in Asia offer the added bonus of 15% off the drinks bill on top, making Accor’s Member for a Day benefit an ideal holiday indulgence treat.

Using the Member for a Day Certificate strategically 

Timing and strategy are everything for Accor Plus members who are thinking of using their Member for a Day Certificate. 

After all, there’s up to 50% off a food splurge and a further 10% discounted stay on offer. Here’s where you think strategy and plan accordingly.  

For example, Accor Plus members may wish to assign the Member for a Day Certificate to a friend before a luxe double-date dinner, using the 50% off Accor Plus dining benefit to half the food bill for both couples. Buy one get one free sounds like a worthy date idea to us! 

Alternatively, the Member for a Day Certificate could be offered as a gift to a friend or family member who will be able to enjoy significant savings on a special, single night away – think a self-care staycation. 

How does it stack up against a paid Accor Plus membership?

How to request the Member for a Day Certificate 

Requesting a Member for a Day Certificate is quite straightforward. Accor Plus members simply need to contact Accor’s member services team by submitting this online form. 

Of course, this process will require some forward planning as members need to fill out the recipient’s details (i.e. name and contact), and when the benefit is planned to be used.  

What to watch out for 

We’ve covered the fact that a maximum of three Membership for a Day Certificates can be requested in a membership subscription year. A few other key limitations apply, so it’s important to be aware of these before requesting the benefit.

Certificates are limited to one per stay per night (sadly, this means that there’s no stacking three Certificates across a three-night stay) 

Only Accor Plus members who reside in Australia, New Zealand and India can request Member for a Day Certificates 

Member for a Day Certificates only apply at participating Accor hotels and restaurants throughout Asia Pacific (excluding Greater China). Dining reservations must be booked directly through the Accor hotel or restaurant. Like Accor Plus, some blackout dates may apply to member benefits, such as for dining on public holidays.

Member for a Day Certificates expire 24 hours after they are first used for check-in or dining. It’s also worth bearing in mind that Member for a Day Certificate benefits are only valid so long as the Accor Plus membership subscription is within its expiry.
