You’ll soon be able to earn Qantas Points when you fill up at BP
Qantas and BP Australia have announced a new partnership that will see Qantas Frequent Flyer members earn Qantas Points at service stations across Australia through the BP Rewards program.
Launching early next year, this new tie-up will see BP leave Virgin Australia to allow Qantas Frequent Flyer members the ability to earn Qantas Points on both fuel and eligible in-store purchases across participating retail sites.
Qantas has also announced that BP Plus fuel card will become the exclusive fuel partner of Qantas Business Rewards, Australia’s largest business loyalty program.
The partnership arrangements are subject to approval from the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC).
Today’s announcement isn’t good news for Caltex StarCard users, as it suggests that the current exclusive tie-up between Qantas Business Rewards and Caltex is set to end.
Caltex has in recent times aggressively marketed its fuel card product to Qantas Frequent Flyer members, with offers of up to 60,000 Qantas Points for new sign-ups. Caltex StarCard users also currently enjoy the ability to earn Qantas Points on fuel purchases. We’ll provide more information on the status of that partnership as it comes to hand.
BP Rewards, including the partnership with Qantas Frequent Flyer and Qantas Business Rewards, will launch in early 2020. More detail on points earned for each dollar spent will be released closer to this time.
