Gold, Diamond fast track: Hilton Honors Double Elite Nights

Worried you won’t scrape in for elite perks next year? Hilton Honors’ Double Nights Credit promotion may just be your status saviour.

There’s been a lot of generosity when it comes to status extensions over the past few years, and while we thought we may have seen the last of those, Hilton Honors has broken ranks with a new offer that will make it easier to qualify for status in 2023.

Until 31 December 2022, Hilton Honors members can earn double elite nights for each stay in a Hilton Honors property, essentially meaning you can boost your status twice as fast.

What you need to know

To take advantage of this global promotion, you’ll have to be a Hilton Honors member and register your stay before you check out.

This promotion follows Hilton Honors’ earlier move to lower 2022 qualification thresholds to allow members to retain or attain elite status easier for next year, with the current requirements as follows:

  • Silver: 7 nights, 3 stays or 17,500 base points
  • Gold: 28 nights, 14 stays or 52,500 base points
  • Diamond: 42 nights, 21 stays or 84,000 base points

So, while Hilton Honors members have the opportunity to qualify for Diamond status in 2023, this promotion makes it possible to qualify with one consecutive 21-night stay (which under the offer will count for 42 elite nights).

What if I’ve already renewed my status for 2023?

The good news is that Hilton Honors members who have already retained their status through to next year can still take advantage of the Double Elite Nights promotion.

All bonus elite nights will roll over into 2023 along with any existing ‘spare’ nights.

What to know

Any existing bookings made through a travel booking aggregate that normally offers Hilton benefits will automatically earn double elite night credits, so you won’t need to rebook once you’ve registered for the offer.

If December is shaping up to be a month of stays, you’ll also be happy to know that there’s no limit to the amount of double night credits you can earn during the promotion period.

However, contrary to the promotion’s name, note that you will not receive ‘double stays’ credit under the offer, but rather, your number of nights will be doubled.

You can find all the offer terms and conditions at the bottom of the offer page.

Go out with a bang: Stack offers

Hilton Honors is also running a Double Stays offer where members receive double Hilton Honors base points on all stays, as well as an additional 2,000 bonus points on stays with a Monday to Friday checkout during the 6 September to 31 December promotion period.

The double points offer can be stacked with the Double Nights Credit promotion. Be sure to register for this one and make the most of both.

Summing up

The status clock is ticking. The end of the year brings with it an impending status deadline, and the reality is that many of us have still travelled at a reduced rate this year.

This generous Double Elite Night promotion offers another shot for those who thought they weren’t going to be able to renew their Hilton Honors status next year.

If you’re someone who is going to get good value out of elite benefits in 2023, then this last-ditch easy attempt at retaining status might just be well worth the effort.

The real question is, how will IHG One Rewards, Accor Live Limitless and Marriott Bonvoy be helping their members retain elite status next year?

Will you be leveraging Hilton Honor’s Double Nights Credit offer?
