How much is the yearly membership Fee for this Amex platinum Business card
Hi, the annual card fee is $1,750 p.a. You can speak to your accountant to determine if this is tax deductable for your business.
I’m coffee shop opens next month. Can it be issued by then?
The approval timeframe varies depending on your circumstances. In some cases, approval can be automatic, and in others Amex may need to contact you to confirm details or seek additional documentation. Once you submit your application, you will receive status updates.
How do I pay the ATO with the Amex card, and what fees/ charges as a % do I pay over and above the actual invoice amount owing?
The ATO publishes a list of card payment sucharge fees here: https://www.ato.gov.au/individuals-and-families/paying-the-ato/how-to-pay/other-payment-details Note that payments to the ATO are classified as Government spend, and therefore they attract a lower points earn rate than everyday spend categories. It’s possible to use a payment processor to pay the ATO and obtain points earn rate at everyday spend rates, however it’s important to calculate whether obtaining the points is worth the cost of incurring the surcharge.
Can one the Bonus points if they already have a personal Amex card noting that this is a Business AMEX card under the company ABN name?
Hi Simon, unfortunately if you already hold a personal Amex then you are not eligible to receive the bonus points for this card.
