Virgin Australia has launched a Velocity Frequent Flyer Double Points offer to round out 2022, with a generous travel period of almost one year.
Velocity Frequent Flyers can score double Velocity Points on Virgin Australia-operated flights booked from now until 14 December 2022. The eligible travel period is until 31 October 2023.
Virgin Australia’s current double-dip offer means Velocity Frequent Flyers will reap the rewards of 10 Velocity Points per $1 spent (rather than the normal five).
For example, a one-way business class fare from Sydney to Brisbane costing $299AUD would earn a neat 2,990 Velocity Points, while a longer Sydney to Perth return business class flight costing $1,399AUD could earn you a whopping 13,990 points.

How to register for the Velocity double points promotion
There aren’t really any hidden obstacles to trip over with this offer, as long as you register on time and fly within the travel period.
All Virgin Australia-operated domestic and international short haul flights and fares (except Velocity Reward Seat bookings) qualify for the Double Points offer.
To participate in the promotion, you’ll need to:
- Activate the offer with your Velocity Frequent Flyer membership number by 14 December 2022. If you don’t yet hold a Velocity Frequent Flyer membership, you can join for free here.
- Then, proceed to book your eligible flights and be sure to include your Velocity Frequent Flyer number in the booking.
- Travel by 31 October 2023 and double bonus points will appear in your Velocity account up to one month after your flight.
Important things to note
Codeshare services marketed or operated by partner airlines other than Virgin Australia are not eligible for the double Velocity Points offer.
It’s also important to note that bonus points will be applied to ‘base’ points only. Any applicable tier bonus earned will not attract bonus points as a result of the double Velocity Points offer.
Allow up to four weeks after the completion of your flight for the bonus points to become visible in your Velocity Frequent Flyer account.
