In mid 2020, American Express announced that cardholders could score a complimentary membership to the Calm meditation app (worth $79.99). This offer proved extremely popular, with many cardholders choosing to take advantage of the benefit.

Until 31 December 2020, American Express cardholders were able to receive a complimentary one year premium membership to Calm, the award-winning sleep, meditation and relaxation app.
Calm premium membership normally costs $79.99 per year, so this represented a compelling opportunity to try out a leading sleep app for free. After the first year is over, cardholders were able to access a second year at 50% off with an automatic renewal.
What is Calm?
Calm is one of the most popular apps for sleep, meditation and relaxation. Downloaded by millions of users, it boasts a 4.8 rating score from over 980,000 reviews on the Apple Store.
The app is designed to help users experience better sleep, lower stress, and less anxiety. The app offers a range of features, including guided meditations, Sleep Stories, breathing programs, stretching exercises and relaxing music.
Is this offer open to new cardholders?
Unfortunately, this offer has now closed. The promotion was open to existing and new personal cardholders until 31 December 2020. Note that American Express Business and Corporate Cards were not eligible.

How Card Members were able to register for this offer
In order to redeem this offer, Card Members must have subscribed to Calm Premium using an eligible American Express Card by no later than 31 December 2020 by clicking here.
Only subscriptions made using the link were eligible and there was a limit of one free subscription per Card. Card Members who already had a Calm Premium subscription needed to cancel the current subscription to take up this offer.
Note that following the initial year of free Calm Premium membership, the subscription will renew automatically each year and your American Express Card will be charged. Card Members who do not wish to renew must cancel the Calm Premium subscription no later than 24 hours before the end of the subscription period.
