American Express® is back with ‘Shop Small’ for 2023, encouraging Card Members to spend locally for a chance to win a share in 10 million points*.
The popular promotion is designed to help small businesses thrive, while highlighting the wide acceptance of American Express locally.
Want to win a share in 10 million Points? Here’s how.
For a chance to win, head to the Shop Small page on the American Express website to register here.
Once registered, you’ll receive an entry into the competition every time you spend at least AU$1 at a participating eligible Shop Small business*.
The first ten eligible entrants to be drawn will each win a prize of 1 million Membership Rewards, Qantas or Velocity points, depending on the loyalty program they are enrolled in*.
(nb: as part of this promotion, there are also 10 x $10,000 Shop Small Business Grants available to Shop Small Merchant Members – find out more here^).
The promotion commences 1 November 2023 and closes 30 November 2023. The winners will be notified through email by 18 January 2024.

Which American Express cards are eligible to enter?
All primary and additional Card Members are eligible to enter the competition. Note that each Card (including supplementary cards) must be registered separately.
The following cards are not eligible to register for the Shop Small promotion: American Express Corporate Card Members, Business Card Members with spend locked to one supplier, Employee Cards of American Express Corporate Card Members, American Express Companion Cards and American Express Cashback Cards.
How to find Shop Small participating businesses
Using your American Express card with a Shop Small merchant is easier than you think.
American Express is widely accepted across Australia, including by all small merchants that process American Express payments via Square terminals.
The American Express Shop Small Map is a handy, searchable tool that will help you identify participating Amex Shop Small merchants. When you search, eligible merchants will be highlighted with the Shop Small logo.
Whether you’re located in Sydney, NSW or Shepparton, VIC the Shop Small Map is an easy way to find small businesses in your local area that accept American Express.
