Bula Canberra! Qantas Frequent Flyers can now use points to fly from Australia’s Capital straight to paradise.
Fiji Airways will begin direct flights between Canberra and the popular holiday destination of Nadi from this week.
Commencing 21 July, the new service will connect passengers to Los Angeles, San Franciso and Vancouver – a win for ACT-based international travellers, whether business or leisure is on the horizon.
The flight schedule
Starting July 21, the service will take off twice a week, before ramping up to thrice-weekly from October this year.
Fiji Airways has selected its Boeing 737 MAX aircraft to run the new route, with eight business class recliners and 162 economy seats ready to be filled with budding holidaymakers.
Flight FJ950 will see wheels up from Canberra at 1.35pm every Tuesday and Friday, arriving in Nadi at 7.40pm the same day.
On the return leg, flight FJ951 will leave Nadi at 9.15am before landing in Canberra at 12.20pm that afternoon.
While there are no lie-flat spoils on the airline’s 737 MAX, a reclined business class seat arguably offers enough comfort for the easy daytime flights.
Ample leg room, HD video and in-flight WiFi are all onboard to help pass the pleasant 4-hour flight.
Plus, the neat 2-2 configuration in the airline’s business class cabin is sure to suit honeymooners enroute to Fiji.
