American Express has today launched a tasty new benefit for Platinum card members, offering up to $400 back on dining each year, at over 1,400 selected restaurants in 20 countries.
The Platinum Card Global Dining Credit benefit is available until 31 December 2024. It unlocks up to $200 back when you dine locally, and up to $200 back when you dine abroad each year.
So where can you dine?
When it comes to eligible restaurants, you’ll be spoiled for choice. At the time of writing, there are over 1400 participating restaurants in 20 countries. Locally, there are 105 restaurants to choose from, across seven Australian states and territories.
The local selection includes stand-out eateries such as Bentley, Quay, Vue de Monde, Africola and Cutler and Co. Unable to venture out for a dining experience? It’s handy to know that you could instead use the benefit to stock up on gourmet pantry goods, via an online Simon Johnson order, with delivery available nationwide.
Internationally, the Platinum Global Dining collection includes a number of flagship restaurants, all of which are fit for the bucket list. Think L’Atelier Saint-Germain de Joël Robuchon, La Dame de Pic, Raffles Singapore and even the possibility to sip bellinis at Harry’s Bar at the Cipriani, Venice.

How the Platinum Card Global Dining Credit works
Enrolled card members will be eligible to receive a maximum of $200 back on spend at participating local restaurants (the Local Dining Credit) and a maximum of AUD $200 back on spend at participating abroad restaurants (the Abroad Dining Credit) per redemption period. Spend can be in one or more transactions.
The benefit will reset annually on 1 January until 31 December 2024, which means there are three future redemption periods locked in. The specific redemption dates are:
- 5 July – 31 December 2022
- 1 January – 31 December 2023
- 1 January – 31 December 2024

How to register
To access this benefit, a separate one-time enrolment is required for each credit (there’s no need to re-enrol for future years). Eligible card members can enrol for each offer, either online in the Amex account or via the Amex App. I’ve personally located both offers within my online account this morning.
