Velocity reopens points redemption bookings for seven partner airlines

To coincide with the fall of Australia’s travel ban, Velocity Frequent Flyer has announced plans to re-open points redemption seats for members with seven partner airlines.

The list of partner airlines includes Virgin Atlantic, Air Canada, Delta Air Lines, Etihad Airways, Hawaiian Airlines Singapore Airlines, and South African Airways

From 11.59pm AEDT Monday 1 November 2021, Velocity members will be able to make points redemption bookings and earn Velocity Points and Status Credits for eligible fares on selected flights with Virgin Atlantic, Air Canada, Delta Air Lines, Etihad Airways, Hawaiian Airlines and South African Airways.

However, if you’re keen to use your Velocity Points for Singapore Airlines reward seats, you’ll need to wait a while longer. Singapore Airlines redemptions will be offered to Velocity members as the airline expands its network and services to and from Australia, with no definitive date announced as yet.

Meanwhile, Velocity members will continue to earn Points and Status Credits when travelling on eligible revenue bookings made with the carrier.

One Million Velocity Reward Seats on offer

Virgin Australia’s own international services are scheduled to resume with the first flight to Nadi, Fiji taking off from Sydney on 16 December 2021. All up, Virgin Australia has approximately one million Reward Seats now available to be booked across the Virgin Australia domestic and international network.

Velocity members will continue to access Status benefits on eligible regular airfares, such as Lounge access, additional baggage allowances, express immigration screening, and priority boarding, depending on the benefits offered with Virgin Australia and partner airlines.

To coincide with the announcement, Virgin Australia has extended its Flexible Flying policy for travel on international services operated by Virgin Australia including Reward Seat bookings made on partner airlines for travel prior to 31 December 2022.

Bonus Points for Velocity transfers in November

From 1 November 2021, Velocity will also launch a bonus Velocity Points promotion, allowing credit card reward points to be transferred from participating partners, into the program, to book international Reward Seats or other dream rewards.

Velocity members will receive at least 20 percent bonus Points when they transfer their credit card reward points from participating partners to Velocity by 30 November 2021, with AMEX and ANZ offering a 25 and 30 per cent bonus points, respectively.
