Velocity is offering double the fun with double points for kids.
Listen up kids (and adults). Velocity members under 18 years of age can earn double Velocity Points on eligible Virgin Australia flight bookings until 17 May.
With a wide travel window, this offer could be a good reason to get the whole family signed up to Velocity Frequent Flyer. Here’s what to know.
How it works
All you need to do to get the double points is locate the minor’s Velocity membership number and activate the offer by visiting the landing page, entering the number and clicking the red ‘Activate’ button.
The frequent flyer member should receive their double points once the offer has been activated, and the eligible flight has been taken.
It’s worth noting that is an ‘Activation Successful’ message is displayed, Velocity will still use the member’s age at the time of flying to determine the eligibility of the offer.
Key dates
There are two key dates to keep in mind to make sure the double points touch down safely:
- eligible flight(s) must be booked by 17 May 2023
- eligible flight(s) must be taken by 2 April 2024
The fine print
Velocity’s ‘Kids Double Points’ offer only extends to eligible flights, which excludes: Reward Seat bookings, any Virgin Australia flight on the same booking as a partner airline flight and codeshare partner flight bookings.
Also, remember that this promotion is exclusive to Velocity members who are under 18 years old, so it doesn’t extend to our adult readers.
The main hurdle to be aware of is that the Velocity member must be under 18 at time of travel to be eligible for the double Points promotion (not just at the time of booking).

Hi Geraldene, to have your child assigned a Velocity number, you’ll simply need to join them up to the Velocity program (it’s free). You won’t be able to attach a friend to your family pool. As they are not an immediate family member to you, they wouldn’t be eligible.
