Bargain staycation alert: Sydney’s Four Seasons Hotel drops $187 stays

With many Aussies craving a getaway, now’s the time to book a staycation.

Let’s face it. Many of us are feeling housebound right now, and the prospect of a pampering overnight stay in a five-star hotel holds real appeal.

The Federal Government has just announced a three-step plan for gradually easing COVID-19 restrictions, with local and regional travel soon to be encouraged. And while we don’t know exactly when all states and territories will lift travel restrictions, now is the perfect time to lock in a staycation.

And if you’re a Sydneysider, there’s an excellent hotel stay bargain on offer, available to book right now.

Score a five-star Sydney hotel stay for just $187 with loads of VIP extras thrown in

Right now, you can book a Saturday night (or any other night of the week) in a Deluxe Room at Sydney’s five-star Four Seasons Hotel for just $187 AUD, a rate which would ordinarily be a steal.

A Deluxe City Room at the Four Seasons Sydney – subject to availability you’ll score a one-category room upgrade to a Harbour view.

The Four Seasons is all about location, with a prime position on The Rocks and Harbour Views from many of its rooms and suites. While it’s not one of Sydney’s newest five-star properties, this is nonetheless a very appealing staycation option to get you out of an iso-induced funk.

We’ve spotted $187 rooms from mid-May all the way through to August, for each night of the week.

Here’s an example rate for Saturday 25 July, 2020:

But the real sweetener comes with the extras that are thrown in – you’ll also score $100 USD in food and beverage credit to spend at the hotel. At today’s exchange rates, that’s worth approximately $153 AUD.

Note that the credit is usually only valid for spend in hotel bars and restaurants. However, with eateries in NSW currently closed due to the evolving COVID-19 situation, the hotel confirmed for us that the dining credit can currently be spent on room service.

Whether it’s room service, or a meal in the hotel restaurant, the Four Seasons serves up a range of decadent dining options

Throw in an upgrade to the next room category plus complimentary breakfast for two the next morning, and the value proposition is extraordinary. All up, you’re extracting more value than the cost of the room for the night:

If you’re keen to lock in a flexible booking rate, there are currently stays available for a little more, from $220. A flexible booking rate allows you to cancel or change your stay up to 6 pm the day before to cater for any uncertainties in these, well, uncertain times. Pricing and rate options are subject to change.

How to lock in this amazing rate

This special Four Seasons Sydney Hotel rate with VIP inclusions is available to the public, but you must book via ‘Virtuoso’, a travel agent-only booking channel that offers free upgrades, hotel credits, and breakfast.

There’s no additional cost to book your stay this way, although you will need to go via a travel agent.

Here’s how to book: Search availability for your dates at classictravel.com, a US-based Virtuoso affiliate that displays rates for the Four Seasons Sydney in real-time. While you could book direct with this website, we prefer to support a local Australian travel agent who is undoubtedly doing it tough right now. You can find a Virtuoso-accredited travel agent at Virtuoso.com

For an experienced and accredited Virtuoso travel agent, I book through Alex Prez, who goes out of his way to ensure an exceptional stay for his clients. Alex can be contacted directly at [email protected] Note, The Champagne Mile receives no compensation for this recommendation

Any word on what will they be doing for breakfast as the restaurant would also be closed for breakfast yet the rate includes breakfast for 2?

Hi Aaron, as with the $100 USD dining credit, I believe that breakfast will be delivered to the room whilst eateries remain closed in NSW. If you’d like to confirm this, you could call the hotel before booking and they will be able to definitively advise.

Can I book for multiple consecutive nights and does that mean $100 credit and breakfast per night? Great deal either way though!

Hi Jarryd, with Virtuoso benefits, you get the $100 USD dining credit once per stay – whether that’s one night or more. You’ll still enjoy your upgraded room (subject to availability) and complimentary breakfast on subsequent days. I agree, it’s a rate worth booking 🙂
