The Champagne Mile popped over to get a sneak peek of the impressive new 18-storey property and as indulgence connoisseurs, we loved what we saw.
From a striking glass frontage to local art installments and elevated finishings throughout, the new Vibe Hotel Adelaide oozes urban elegance in an effortlessly approachable, yet surprisingly upscale way.
Key features include the opportunity to swim between buildings in a suspended lap pool, and a chance to soak into your very own bedside retreat-worthy free-standing bath.
Location, location, location
The hotel’s East End location lends itself perfectly to business and leisure, positioning guests within striking distance of the city’s renowned festivals and events, as well as the Flinders Street business precinct.
Vibe Hotel Adelaide is well-positioned to explore South Australia’s award-winning wine regions and is situated only 20 minutes from Adelaide airport, all while being within walking distance from the city’s best attractions.
Whether you’re a local looking for a city stay during festival season or visiting Adelaide for business or leisure (local wine a must for both kinds of visits), Vibe Hotel Adelaide is perfectly located just a short walk away from Rundle Mall, the Central Market and Botanic Gardens.
The guest rooms
There’s a deliberate sense of style upon entering the rooms; a warm elegance softens the hotel’s urban features.
The 123 room hotel boasts multiple different room and suite categories, designed to appeal to a broad range of travellers.
The Premier Suites, Urban Retreat Rooms, Deluxe Rooms, and lead-in Guest Rooms each offer a comfortable stay, stocked with O&M toiletries.
A key highlight is the elevated free-standing bath in the Urban Retreat Rooms – a striking window-side feature that one wouldn’t typically expect to see in a Vibe hotel.
Here on the upper levels, guest rooms mirror the lobby to feature exposed concrete ceilings, warm Tasmanian Oak finishes and floor-to-ceiling windows that encompass the hotel’s façade, allowing you to gaze out towards the rolling Adelaide Hills – a scenic backdrop to the city’s beating heart below.
Beyond the rooms
Guests are greeted by the hotel’s elevated sense of style straight away upon entering the expansive lobby.
Here local artisans have collaborated to highlight a selection of Australian timbers and lighting in what can only be described as an art installation, arguably the most eye-catching of which being a 15-meter serpentine chandelier, which hangs suspended from the lobby’s raw concrete ceiling.
Above the lobby floats a beautifully tiled suspended bridge lap pool that allows guests to swim between the hotel and the neighboring apartment building – a sight we’d expect to see adorn the rooftop of a Mediterranean villa.
After a dip, guests can head down to a vibrant dining hub on the ground level, where Storehouse restaurant and bar offers a refreshing indoor-meets-outdoor concept.
Curved garden beds filled with Australian native plants and festoon lighting make it feel as though you’re sitting in the fringing parklands – safe to say we’ll be perching here for live music and cocktails to close off the work week.
Our final thoughts: Upscale luxe
The brand new Vibe Hotel Adelaide feels different and unexpected in the best way, with the property’s natural retreat ambiance making for a stay highlight.
Superbly placed for events, the Vibe Hotel Adelaide is also in a prime location for guests to experience the Adelaide Fringe Festival, VALO Adelaide 500 and WOMADelaide.
