Qantas x Bangkok Airways partnership explained
The fresh partnership means travellers can access Bangkok Airways flights from Australia via Bangkok, Phuket and Singapore.
Qantas operates more than 50 return flights between Australia and these cities every week, meaning that travellers from Australia will be able to access some of Asia’s most popular destinations, including Thailand’s Koh Samui and Chiang Mai.
How to book Bangkok Airways flights using Qantas Points
You can book Bangkok Airways redemptions online via Qantas Frequent Flyer. Simply log into your Qantas Frequent Flyer account and search for flights (be sure to click the ‘use points’ option).
Look out for flights with a PG flight code in the search results. It’s important here to select Classic Flight Rewards, otherwise you run the risk of churning through your Qantas Frequent Flyer balance by selecting Points Plus Pay, which typically represents a poor value proposition.
How many Qantas Points do I need to book a Classic Flight Reward on Bangkok Airways?
The number of Qantas Points needed will depend on the route and class of travel.
It’s worth knowing that accompanying carrier surcharges applied to Bangkok Airways bookings represent a very modest outlay for Australian travellers.

Bangkok to Krabi | 10,000 | Thai Bhat 100 (about $4 AUD) |

Bangkok Airways joins the Red Roo’s more than 45 existing partner airlines, which allows Qantas Frequent Flyer members to use their points to travel to more than 1,200 destinations around the world.
What started as a codeshare agreement back in 2014 has now evolved into a full partnership that will expand the ways Qantas customers can use their points.
Thailand is undoubtedly a hotspot for keen Australian travellers, but will this latest partnership tempt you to use your Qantas Points with Bangkok Airways?
