Get 80,000 bonus Qantas or Altitude Rewards points
New cardholders enjoy 80,000 bonus Qantas or Altitude Rewards points when applying for the Westpac Altitude Black Mastercard by 2 April 2019 and meeting minimum spend requirements.
It’s easy to choose either Qantas or Altitude Rewards points – you simply nominate your preferred points currency when you complete the application form.
Opting to earn Qantas points
80,000 Qantas points is enough to take off on holiday, flying Qantas or one of their Partner airlines. Your sign on bonus is enough for the following award redemption options:
- Qantas Business Class from Sydney/Melbourne to Auckland return (72,000 Qantas points, plus taxes and fees)
- Qantas Premium Economy Class from Melbourne to Los Angeles one way (72,000 Qantas points, plus fees and taxes), or
- Qantas or Emirates Business Class from Melbourne to Singapore one way (60,000 Qantas points, plus taxes and fees)
Points redemption rates are correct as at 26 November 2018 and subject to airline T&Cs and availability. Fees and charges are payable in addition to the points redeemed.
Opting to earn Altitude Rewards points
Not a Qantas loyalist? Cardholders can instead opt to earn Altitude Rewards points, unlocking the ability to transfer points to a range of leading airlines.
Members of Velocity Frequent Flyer can opt for an automatic transfer rate of 2 Altitude Rewards points to 1 Velocity point. The sign on bonus of 80,000 Altitude Rewards points is the equivalent of 40,000 Velocity points.
Altitude Rewards points can also be transferred to Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer and Cathay Pacific Asia Miles at a rate of 3 Altitude Rewards points to 1 frequent flyer mile.
Relax with two Qantas or Priority Pass Lounge entries each year
Cardholders who choose the Qantas version of the card can receive two complimentary Qantas Lounge invitations each year. The invites are valid at domestic Qantas Club lounges and International Business Lounges, with the exception of Los Angeles.
To receive the Qantas Lounge invitations, you must first register and then spend with your Westpac Altitude Black Mastercard on selected Qantas products and services. The passes will then be digitally credited to your Qantas Frequent Flyer account.
Cardholders who opt for Altitude Rewards can instead obtain two entries to Priority Pass Lounges. The Priority Pass Lounge network includes over 1,200 Lounges worldwide, with Lounges available at many airports around Australia. Additional Priority Pass Lounge visits are charged at $27 USD per person.
Enjoy a generous earn rate on eligible spend
The Westpac Altitude Black Mastercard delivers a flat earn rate of 0.75 Qantas point / 1.25 Altitude Rewards point for each $1 of eligible spend (exclusions apply).
