How to get the ShopBack sign-up bonus

ShopBack runs new member offers through the year, and the amount changes from campaign to campaign. The offer that is live when you create your account is the one you get, so follow these steps in order.

  1. Click the Join Now button above on the phone or computer you will use for ShopBack.

  2. Create your account with a mobile number that has never been used on ShopBack. It is one account per person and device.

  3. Add your bank account or PayPal in your account settings. Bonuses and cashback cannot be confirmed or withdrawn without it.

  4. Shop through ShopBack and meet the offer’s minimum spend or cashback within the time limit, usually 180 days.

  5. Check the Rewards section of the app. Bonus cashback shows as pending first, then confirmed once your qualifying cashback confirms.

    How ShopBack works

Retailers pay ShopBack a commission when you buy through its links, and ShopBack passes part of that back to you as cashback. Rates vary by store and change often, so check the rate on the store page before you click through.

Example: you spend $200 at a retailer paying ShopBack 5%. If ShopBack passes on 80% of that, you get $8 back, which is 4% of your spend.

ShopBack works with more than 2,000 Australian retailers, including Coles, Amazon and David Jones, plus hotels, tours and travel bookings. It also sells discounted gift cards for 200+ retailers such as JB Hi-Fi and Bunnings, an easy way to earn on purchases you would make anyway.

    In-store cashback

ShopBack Pay, the in-store QR payment option, closed in Australia on 25 March 2026. In-store earning now works by scanning eligible receipts in the ShopBack app, on offers that support it.

How long cashback takes and how you get paid

    • Tracking: usually within 48 hours of purchase.

    • Confirmation: up to 120 days, depending on the retailer’s return window. Returned items lose their cashback.

    • Withdrawal: to your bank account or PayPal once your balance passes $10.01, usually within 5 business days. There is a 48-hour hold after you change bank details.

Tracking tip: start every shop from ShopBack, stay in the same tab through checkout, and switch off other coupon extensions. Most missing cashback comes from leaving the tab or another extension overwriting the tracking.
